We started researching the concepts behind Piedmont Computing Group about two years ago when myself and my colleagues noticed a huge area of IT support and development that was severely under served, specifically in the area of small and medium businesses IT department outsourcing. From our research over the last few years we have found that even the best software and hardware solutions marketed to individuals and businesses fall short on delivering a reliable IT experience that is easy to adapt to almost any need or niche and that builds business instead of draining business budgets. Then about a year ago some new technologies began to be adopted by major internet companies (some people call this 'Web 2.0'), that could potentially be linked together to fill this gap in IT services. But as with all new technologies, these where very young and buggy, not at all ready for the average user to use daily and rely on for their business.
Over the course of 2006 these web based computing technologies quickly matured and became stable and easy to use. It was near the end of 2006 that we sat down and began to develop a services model that could tie these many disparate technologies together into one unified whole. In February of this year(2007) we decided to form a business offering that is built around this technology model, and so we formed Piedmont Computing Group as the seed to tie ourselves together. Quickly we realized that we had a winning model that was best served by incorporating to centralize and deomcratize our business practice. Structured as a private stock corporation in Virginia, Piedmont Computing Group brings myself and my associates in the IT industry together to provide a superior IT solution to the vast majority of users.
Our total IT service packages are primarily aimed for small and medium businesses, but we also understand the 'fundamental need' for in home IT support so we keep a series of modular services available for people who prefer a professional solution over a retail support solution.
Our goal for your IT needs is:
"To provide the most reliable, flexible and business enhancing IT infrastructure while at the same time getting as much of the equipment out of the office as is possible."
